I have decided that living in a house with random people living in the basement is worse than living in residence. And yes, I realize that is quite the statement to make, but it's the truth.
For example, in residence I never had any problems with the availability of washing machines...we had like 6 or so washing machines (that actually worked) for 400 people, and I think ONE time when I went to do laundry they were all full. Now that we have 1 washing machine for 6 people (that's 6:1 versus about 66:1 in res), basically every time I plan on doing laundry there is already someone using it. It's quite annoying. This past week was a lovely example of it. Wednesday I went to do laundry, someone's stuff was sitting in the washing machine, already washed, but still sitting in the washing machine. Ah well, not sure how long it was sitting in there, that's OK, I'll check back later. Check back later, it's still there. Ugh. Whatever, I'll do it tomorrow. Thursday comes, the laundry is still in the washer. No one in the basement apartment is home (convenient...) so I can't tell them they have laundry in the washer. Friday comes, the laundry is STILL there, and once again, no one's home...and I have no underwear left. And I am NOT doing laundry on a Saturday, I HATE doing laundry on Saturdays, it ruins the ENTIRE day. So I took out the STINKY, still wet laundry from the washer that had been sitting in there for at least 3 days and put it on top of the drier (yes, I could have put it on the floor, but that would have been really mean and I'm not THAT mean) so that I could wash my clothes. I don't think that's unreasonable...I mean...TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OUT OF THE WASHING MACHINE. I'm still not sure how you can forget about laundry for 3 days. Usually I do laundry because I'm running out of clean clothes (usually specifically underwear, as previously mentioned), so I would realize if I had forgotten it in the wash. I can understand forgetting about it for 3 hours, but not 3 days. Disgusting. They're going to have to re-wash it, it smells puke-worthy.
Another annoying thing about having other people live in the basement is they're noisy, just like res. Ok. They actually aren't that noisy, I know it could be a lot worse. But tonight they have friends over and they're being noisy and it's annoying. I want to have control over the noise that is being made in my house! GAH.
Perhaps the most annoying thing is the driveway issue. It would make sense that one side of the driveway is for the upstairs apartment and one side is for the basement apartment, no? I don't CARE if the basement people have 3 cars and the upstairs only have 1, that is NOT MY PROBLEM. I do not want to have to go around back to the basement apartment, knock on the door, wait for someone to answer the door, tell them to move their car because their blocking me in and I'm late for work, wait for them to get their shoes & coat & car keys, and wait for them to move their car every time I need to leave the house! That is ridiculous. So, moral of the story is you park on your side, I will park on mine. And yes, I WILL park halfway down the driveway so that there is no room for you to park behind me. DO NOT PARK BEHIND MY CAR, GODDAMNIT.
Completely unrelated news: I have watched the entire season 2 of the office (minus the last episode, stupid videos not loading!!) in the last 2 days. My eyes are sore from watching my computer screen for so long. And I love Jim Halpert.

The obvious solution is to kill the people in the downstairs apartment.
I've watched the first two series of the Big Bang Theory in the past two days. But I have the week off so that's a little less amazing.
HAAAAA isn't the big bang theory AMAZING?!!! loveeee that show.
and I'm not sure that solution is SO obvious...on my pro/con list for that solution, the cons (ie: going to prison for life) far outweigh the pros (ie: not getting woken up at 2am by the noisy drunk people)...
The not getting caught part of the plan should be obvious too. :P
