I watched Titanic last night for the first time. I know, HOW is that possible? Not sure, it just is. When it came out in '97 I was 8 and it was rated PG-13, thus, no Titanic for Joanna. I think probably it wasn't so much the naked Kate Winslet that my parents were concerned about as the massive amounts of DEATH when Titanic sank, dear GOD that scarred me even now that I'm 19 (haha, I almost wrote 20...not quite yet lol). And of course I'd seen all the important parts already, like the "I'm flying, Jack!" part and actually some of the boat sinking (that part when the old couple is lying in the bed as the water fills up in their room, dear GOD that's sad).
The moral of this post is that there are quite a few classic movies that I've never seen that I need to see just because they're classics. Perhaps "classic" is the wrong word...more like...ok I can't think of a word other than that. But anyways, here is my list-in-progress of movies I haven't seen that I need to see: (also, I feel like I may have written a post like this already but I can't remember...)
1. Fight Club
2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
3. Gone With The Wind
4. The Godfather
5. Casablanca
6. Forest Gump (I think I may have seen parts of this at times, but not the whole thing)
7. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
8. Duck Soup (I'll be honest, I'd never heard about this before that one episode of Gilmore Girls (season...4?) where Rory & naked boy (aka Marty) plan to watch it. But then I think Rory ditches Marty for that loser Logan, or something. Can't remember. Anywho now I feel I should watch it.)
9. Bonnie and Clyde
Ok I'm pretty sure that I had another list somewhere that I had written down that had a bunch more movies but I can't find it and I can't remember them. Either way, if you know any awesome "classics" let me know. I may or may have not seen them. Most likely not.

I've seen numbers 1, 3, 5, and 6. I also saw Titanic many years after its release. I remember my parents renting it and watching it. They said they'd let me watch it if it wasn't too bad. And then I didn't see it until a few years ago.
I think it's funny you haven't seen these movies when you have the most DVDs of anyone I know.
Fight Club is definitely not a feel good movie, but it was really good. It was a little like it was trying too hard to be really good though, but that could just be because I knew everyone thought it was really good before I saw it.
I LOVE Casablanca. I have a digital copy of it if you want me to send it to you, but really I'd prefer to have an awesome old films night sometime.
Forrest Gump I really disliked. It was very dull. Of course it was a while ago that I saw it and I may appreciate it more now.
Gone with the Wind is also awesome, but insanely long.
