Crap.

OH kay. This is my bathroom rant. The bathrooms here, although very clean and newly renovated, still leave me with enough things to rant about ...

Firstly, and the least of the problems, because it's solvable, is....there is nothing in the bathroom to dry your hands with. No paper towels, no blow dryers, NOTHING. First couple of days I dried my hands on my pants...gross. aHA but then I remembered that my all-knowing mother packed me with hand towels!! And the bathroom DOES have hooks for towels by the sink, so I just grab my hand towel on the way down to the bathroom, hang it on the hook, use the facilities, and then wash and DRY my hands! WHOOO! ...only problem is that I still forget to take the hand towel half the time. I've remembered halfway down the hallway and turned around and went back to my room to get it. haha.

Ok, next one is slightly bigger of a problem...there's no waste disposal bins in the stalls. You know, for feminine hygiene products! LAME. It totally sucks BIG TIME. And the washroom is clearly labeled "WOMEN", so although there was a brief discussion of having co-ed washrooms (ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!), there's only women using it! So why they can't have pad/tampon waste disposal bins BLOWS MY MIND. We have to take our garbage out into the open area of the bathroom and dispose of it in the garbage out there. GROSS.

Third problem is the biggest problem by far. Showers. And there are a couple problems with the showers, oh my. OK. Curtains and public showers just don't go together. Stalls are the only way to go, HONESTLY. And when they were talking about having co-ed bathrooms I was really not seeing how that was going to work with fricken CURTAINS on the showers. Curtains that like to blow open when someone walks by. GAH. Now...in the bathroom there are 2 "good" showers and one crappy one. The "good" ones are so-called "good" because they have a tub with a shower and that has a separate curtain and then they have a separate changing area. The crappy one is just a shower stall with a curtain, no changing area. Which I might use when I get more comfortable with the fact, but right now I avoid it. Also...only one of the "good" showers actually works, the other one doesn't switch from bathtub-mode to shower-mode. Believe me, I've yanked my fricken hardest on that thing. No luck. However...there is another girls' bathroom like, just through the doors in the next hallway, so I suppose if the one good shower is taken I could always just use the other bathroom, lol. But still. The curtain thing bothers me the most. *shivers* It's just awkward. Man, no privacy in this place.

Also...while I originally thought I had a quiet hallway, it seems that these people are not so quiet. I can definitely see the perks to living at home.

Yup, we only have 3 showers on my floor and they both only have curtains. Everyone just wears their bathrobes to the showers.

Except Kate who walks out with her towel Wrapped around her and towel on head. Just strolling down the hall. What if a guy were going down the stares and just happened to look through the door window. Would be like. Oh My!!! And oggle. ^^

I've contemplated doing the towel/bathrobe thing but I think it wouldn't work very well with a roommate because then I'd have to awkwardly change while still keeping my towel/bathrobe on. Sooooo I think I'll just keep getting changed in the shower, despite the curtain.
